Elevating psychological wellbeing through clinical excellence

Welcome to our psychotherapy clinical practice and wellbeing consultancy, led by Dr Katharine James, a PhD-credentialed and dual-registered Clinical and Neuropsychologist. She is registered to practice in the UK (HCPC) and South Africa (HPCSA).

Katharine was born in Zimbabwe; the Shona name Hutano (meaning health) reflects her heritage. As a child she moved with her family to Johannesburg and then Cape Town, where she completed her schooling, university degrees and clinical training. She worked in Cape Town across government hospitals and private practice settings before relocating to the United Kingdom with her husband in 2019. Since moving to the UK, Katharine has practised within both NHS and private healthcare settings, providing therapy in-person and online.

With over 15 years of experience across public hospitals, rural community clinics, private practices and large corporations, Katharine brings extensive clinical knowledge, research experience, corporate leadership and mental wellbeing expertise. Her ongoing role as a Lead Psychologist for a large private healthcare organisation, supporting major clients predominantly in the financial services sector, has provided deep insight into the specific pressures and interpersonal dynamics of corporate environments.

These specialised insights inform our independent consultancy. We offer an evidence-based, multidimensional approach to mental health, delivering tailored, person-centred care.
